What Is Programming
Programming means describing a solution so precisely that a machine can carry it out.
Beginner
A computer can only follow instructions exactly. Programming is the process of turning a problem into an algorithm (a finite sequence of unambiguous steps) and then expressing that algorithm in a programming language.
A typical workflow:
- Understand the problem and its inputs and outputs.
- Design the steps (often on paper or as a flowchart).
- Write the code.
- Run and test it with different inputs.
- Debug and improve.
Languages range from low-level (assembly, C — close to the hardware) to high-level (Python, Java — closer to human thinking).
