Logic Analyser

Capture many digital signals at once and decode protocols like UART, I2C and SPI.

A logic analyser samples many channels (8–32) as high/low and displays the timing. Software such as PulseView/sigrok or Saleae Logic decodes protocols — showing the actual bytes on an I2C or SPI bus — which makes driver debugging far faster than guessing.

Sample at least 4–10× the fastest signal frequency. Low-cost 24 MHz, 8-channel analysers are enough for most microcontroller buses.
