Kirchhoff's Laws

KCL: currents into a node sum to zero. KVL: voltages around a loop sum to zero.

Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL) — conservation of charge at a node:

∑Iin=∑Iout\sum I_{in} = \sum I_{out}

Kirchhoff's Voltage Law (KVL) — conservation of energy around any closed loop:

∑V=0\sum V = 0

Together with Ohm's law these two laws let you analyse any linear circuit. See Electrical → Circuit Analysis for nodal and mesh methods.
