Function Generator
Produce sine, square, triangle and arbitrary test signals with adjustable frequency, amplitude and offset.
Beginner
Use a function generator to test filters (sweep the frequency and watch the output), feed test signals into amplifiers, or simulate sensors. Arbitrary waveform generators (AWG) play back any shape you define.
Most generators have a 50 Ω output impedance. If the instrument is set to expect a 50 Ω load but you connect a high-impedance circuit, the actual amplitude is double the displayed value — check the "load" setting.
