Ideal Op-Amp and Golden Rules
With negative feedback: no current flows into the inputs, and the output drives the inputs to equal voltages.
Easy
The ideal op-amp has infinite gain, infinite input impedance, zero output impedance and infinite bandwidth. With negative feedback this gives two golden rules:
- No current flows into the inputs.
- The output does whatever is needed to make . (the "virtual short")
These two rules are enough to analyse almost every op-amp circuit in a few lines.
